Art and Play

On the weekends, I spend most of my time playing ping-pong, painting, hiking, or just cooking a good meal.

I've got to say, I'm pretty darn good at ping-pong, and I'm not joking. I've been playing it religiously for the past six years. When I was a kid, I was a bit on the heavier side, so my parents signed me up for all sorts of sports. In high school, our handball team clinched second place at the district level, and during my bachelor's, I even managed to secure second place in the women's singles badminton league.

My passion for painting ignited during my early years, serving as a catalyst for both nurturing my creativity and honing my concentration skills. Over time, I have delved into a diverse array of artistic styles, including clay modeling, fabric painting, glass artistry, and various forms of handicrafts. These artistic pursuits have not only allowed me to create exquisite works but also enriched my journey of self-expression.

This mandala holds a special place in my heart because I created it for my wedding invitation. It's filled with meaningful details that reflect both me (Taru, meaning 'tree' in Hindi) and my husband (Dhruv, meaning 'North Star' in Hindi), as well as a deeper significance woven into its design.

For instance:

I had a lot of fun designing this on Procreate and letting my family and friends discover the hidden meaning of the wedding invitation.
