Mobile Holder for Gen-X
Prototype Product Design
Numerous individuals from the Gen-X generation are not particularly adept at utilizing technology. As a daughter of Gen-X parents, I have encountered this issue when attempting to video call or use FaceTime with my parents. They struggle to hold the phone in the correct orientation. In response to this problem, we have developed a phone holder that not only ensures the phone remains upright but also enhances the audio volume.

Research : How current Gen-X use their phones during video calls.
To solve this problem, we designed a mobile phone holder which would:
Allow both parties to have a smooth video call or FaceTime session without being concerned about any technical issues.
Enhance auditory capacity, by creating directional audio output through a hollow body which acts as an amplifier.
Made of wood to increase the audio quality and have a beautiful finish.
First Iteration
To visualize how the prototype will look like, we created a paper model with simple folds. This helped us create dimensions for the actual prototype. We had to keep a few things in mind when designing like:
Holder should be able to hold the weight of the phone
It should not topple.
It should be compatible with most phone types.
